September Newsletter

Written by Amina Hatia RM

Hoping you have all been able to enjoy some of the summer sunshine, either here in the UK or abroad.  September brings with it the transition from the warmth of summer into that slight crispness of early autumn with the change in seasons, which if you are pregnant or just had a new baby can also be a time of big changes too. Have a read of our newsletter with seasonal advice and information to support you during this special time.

A Month of New Beginnings

Did you know that more babies are born in September than any other month? We don’t know why this happens and there are a variety of urban myths such as parents planning for the beginning of the school term or babies being conceived during the festive winter months!  Whatever the reason, if you are expecting a baby this month know that you’re in good company!

Embrace the Autumn Weather:

With the days getting cooler, now is a great time to enjoy outdoor activities without the intensity of summer heat. Gentle walks in the park or light gardening can be relaxing and beneficial for both your physical and mental well-being.

Preparing for Your Baby’s Arrival:

As your due date approaches, you may find yourself feeling the urge to ‘nest’—that is, preparing your home for the baby. Take advantage of this energy burst to pack your hospital bag and plan ahead for the first few months with a newborn.

Planning for birth:

It’s never too early to start thinking about your birth plan and preparing for labour.  If you haven’t already, joining an antenatal class such our live, midwife led and interactive courses are a great place to start. They offer a great opportunity to explore and really understand your options for care during labour and birth and how this may impact you.

We also have a range of range of on demand classes – such as our new Induction of Labour (IOL) class.

Introducing our new Induction of Labour course, led by renowned UK midwife Marley Hall (Midwife Marley).
